Fort Wayne last weekend was similar to today’s race.
Frustrating. In Fort Wayne, I missed the breakaway of 8 riders in the first
couple laps. It was clear it would stick, seeing as all 8 riders were on 1 of 2
teams. Unfortunately, by the time I got to the front they had a gap larger than
I could close. Bissel-Nuvo and RGF
had 4 riders up and the road and finished ahead of the field. During the last 3
laps I placed myself at the front. With 1 lap to go I sat top 5 and went top 3
into the final turn. I sprinted and took the field sprint for 9th
place. It felt good to throw down a solid sprint but I should have been
sprinting from the breakaway.
